Additional Information

Chili and cayenne peppers are fruits of the plants from the genus Capsicum, which are members of the nightshade family, Solanaceae. Chili peppers are considered fruit, not vegetables. Chili peppers tend to be eaten in very small amounts as spices or condiments, due to their strong flavors; as opposed to sweet pepper, which is usually used as a vegetable.

Please note that this allergen is not related to the peppercorn spices (green and black pepper).
