Viral load reflex testing offers the ability for the laboratory to perform an HIV-1 viral load to establish the patient viral load at the time of resistance testing. This ensures there will be adequate virus to amplify for resistance testing. If the viral load meets viral load requirements for the preferred assay, testing will proceed. If there is insufficient viral load, the viral load results will be reported and testing will be stopped.
Labcorp offers several options for viral load reflex testing.
