Test Details
Methodology
Initial presumptive testing by immunoassay at the following testing threshold: tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), 5.0 ng/ml. Presumptive positives confirmed to limit of quantitation by definitive chromatography mass spectrometry (GC/MS or LC/MS-MS).
Result Turnaround Time
3 - 10 days
Turnaround time is defined as the usual number of days from the date of pickup of a specimen for testing to when the result is released to the ordering provider. In some cases, additional time should be allowed for additional confirmatory or additional reflex tests. Testing schedules may vary.

Red-top (no additive) tube; tubes with separator gels should not be used.
Collection Instructions
Serum should be separated from cells within two hours of venipuncture. Submit serum in plastic transport tube.
Storage Instructions
Room temperature. For storage beyond 3 days, specimen should be refrigerated or frozen.
