Special Instructions
Antinuclear Antibodies (ANA) by IFA testing is performed.
1) If ANA is positive, the following tests are performed: Anti-DsDNA (double-stranded) Ab by Farr (Radioimmunoassay), Anti-Sm, Complement C3, Complement C4, Anti-U1 RNP, Anti-Ro (SS-A), Anti-La (SS-B), Anti-Chromatin, Anti-Centromere, Anti-Scl70, Anti-Jo1, Anti-Cardiolipin Abs, IgG and IgM, and Anti-Beta 2 Glycoprotein I Abs, IgG and IgM.
2) If ANA by IFA is negative, RheumAssure (Rheumatoid Factor by Turbidimetry, Anti-CCP (Cyclic Citrullinated Peptide) Abs, IgG and IgA, and 14-3-3-eta is performed.
3) If 14-3-3-eta is negative, the Anti-TPO (Thyroperoxidase) Ab and Anti-Thyroglobulin Ab are performed.
Expected Turnaround Time
10 days
Turnaround time is defined as the usual number of days from the date of pickup of a specimen for testing to when the result is released to the ordering provider. In some cases, additional time should be allowed for additional confirmatory or additional reflex tests. Testing schedules may vary.
