Use
An extensive list of diagnostic immunohistochemical stains and profiles is available for the diagnosis of poorly differentiated tumors, identity of primary and metastatic tumors, and classification of lymphomas. Refer to the Diagnostic Immunohistochemical Staining Program in the Oncology Appendix online, or contact oncology customer service at 800-345-4363 for an updated list of immunostains.
Special Instructions
Clearly indicate program option being ordered. For program options II and IV, please submit an H&E slide and provide the following information: differential diagnosis, site of specimen, and clinical information. Please direct any questions regarding this test to oncology customer service at 800-345-4363.
Specimen Requirements
Test Includes
• Option I: Slides and controls are returned for your interpretation.
• Option II: Slides and controls are returned with an immunostain interpretation.
• Option IV: Full surgical pathology consultation (can be ordered with option II.)

Limitations
Use of fixatives other than 10% formalin may not yield equivalent or satisfactory results.
Specimen
Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue and/or slides sectioned from tissue block
Volume
One paraffin block and/or two unstained slides sectioned from tissue block for each requested stain

Paraffin block transport pouch
Storage Instructions
Maintain specimen at room temperature.
Collection Instructions
Specimen should be fixed in 10% neutral-buffered formalin. Optimum fixation time is 12 to 24 hours, not to exceed 48 hours.
