Collect specimen prior to dialysis. Do not collect if patient has received antithymocyte globulin, OKT3, or alemtuzumab (Campath®) recently. These drugs may cause false-positive results.

Limitations

Detects antibodies of the IgG isotype and not IgM antibodies, which are usually indicative of autoantibodies.
