Result Turnaround Time
3 - 7 days
Turnaround time is defined as the usual number of days from the date of pickup of a specimen for testing to when the result is released to the ordering provider. In some cases, additional time should be allowed for additional confirmatory or additional reflex tests. Testing schedules may vary.
Use
HLA A antigens may be useful in relation to certain disease states.

Specimen
Whole blood, buccal swabs, spot cards or extracted DNA
Volume
Adult tube or 4 buccal swabs
Minimum Volume
Pediatric tube or 2 buccal swabs
Container
Lavender-top (EDTA) tube, blood spot card or buccal swab (non-micro). When submitting buccal swabs, please use a buccal swab kit provided by Labcorp. To obtain the buccal swab kit, please email HLACS@labcorp.com or call 800-533-1037.

Standard phlebotomy or follow buccal swab collection kit instructions
Storage Instructions
Maintain specimen at room temperature; protect from extreme heat or cold.
