Ruth Heim, PhD, FACMG

Discipline Director, Molecular Genetics and Genomics, Labcorp

Dr Heim is currently a diplomate of the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics and a fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics. She is certified by the New York State Department of Health as a director of genetic testing (molecular) and molecular and cellular tumor markers. Dr Heim graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, with a First Class BSc(Hons) degree and a PhD in human molecular genetics. She completed postdoctoral fellowship training in clinical molecular genetics at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Dr Heim was most recently director of molecular genetics clinical operations, Integrated Genetics, and serves now as the strategic clinical director and national co-discipline director of molecular genetics and genomics at Labcorp.

Dr Heim has authored over 60 articles and abstracts, published in such journals as Genetics in Medicine, Nature Genetics, Prenatal Diagnosis, and Clinical Chemistry.
