Needs Beyond Medicine receives $10,000 grant from The Labcorp Charitable Foundation
Grant Supports the Nonprofit’s Efforts to Ease the Financial Burden on People with Cancer
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, April 6, 2022 — Needs Beyond Medicine today announced the receipt of a $10,000 grant from The Labcorp Charitable Foundation in support of its Relief Program, which brings critical assistance to adults with cancer who are facing the fight of their lives.
With the donation, the Relief Program will further its work of establishing financial assistance grants for individuals battling cancer to use for necessary, non-medical living expenses such as rent, utilities, groceries and transportation.
Individuals seeking assistance through the Relief Program are eligible to apply if they are currently in active cancer treatment, chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy or any combination of the four. At this time, the program assists only adult patients residing in Utah.
“The Labcorp Charitable Foundation’s generous grant will advance the mission of Needs Beyond Medicine and its Relief Program, which helps so many people afflicted by cancer,” said DiVina Mauchley, chair of Needs Beyond Medicine’s board of directors. “With the charitableness of foundations and the public, we can increase the support we provide in 2022 and beyond.”
Through December 2021, the Relief Program has offered financial assistance to a total of 1,805 individuals. Needs Beyond Medicine is fortunate to work with all local hospitals, cancer centers, clinics and strategic community partners in the state of Utah.

The Relief Program and others like it play a critical role in making sure patient care is not hindered due to an individual’s essential living expenses.”
