UKEMS 2024 -- Labcorp has been performing the Transgenic Rodent Somatic and Germ Cell Gene Mutation Assay (OECD TG 488) in the MutaMouse model for over 25 years and has significant experience in a wide variety of somatic tissues and germ cells. Labcorp employs different DNA extraction techniques according to tissue type. Currently, the Agilent RecoverEase DNA isolation kit is used for the majority of somatic tissue and developing germ cell (seminiferous tubules) DNA extractions. However, the RecoverEase method is not recommended by Agilent for certain tissues such as urinary bladder or skin as they are not amenable to homogenisation or nuclei isolation. Therefore, Labcorp currently uses a phenol:chloroform method for these tissues along with mature sperm (extracted from the cauda epididymis) which uses toxic chemicals and can be time consuming. For downstream processes such as Duplex Sequencing, the current recommended DNA extraction method recommended by TwinStrand Biosciences is t
