Labcorp announces 2022 Corporate Responsibility Report

31 March 2023

Every day, millions of people count on Labcorp to help them better understand their healthcare needs, and we take that responsibility very seriously. As a leading global life sciences company, we recognize that we also have a tremendous responsibility to demonstrate progress on important environmental, social and governance (ESG) efforts, and to make a positive impact for the patients, providers, consumers and business leaders who rely on us.

As we are evolving our operations to deliver important products and services in increasingly sustainable ways, cultivating our diverse and talented workforce and increasing access to healthcare, we are driven by our mission to improve health and improve lives. That mission has guided Labcorp’s ability to accomplish a variety of initiatives across our organization, including:

  • Forging new partnerships that allow us to expand crucial therapeutic practices

  • Supporting healthcare access for communities across the world

  • Fostering a culture that empowers our diverse, talented workforce to feel valued and have an equal opportunity to perform and succeed

“As a global company, we take pride in the fact that we serve customers worldwide, and we strive to provide access to high-quality healthcare and clinical trials to all patients, including vulnerable populations,” said Adam Schechter, chairman and chief executive officer of Labcorp.

2022 Corporate Responsibility Report Highlights

  • Our Company: At Labcorp, we serve patients, clients, suppliers, vendors and communities with the highest ethics, integrity and transparency. Every year, we provide compliance training—including Code of Conduct and Ethics training and privacy training—to all employees. In 2022, we achieved a 96% average employee completion rate across all compliance trainings

  • Our People: We strive to cultivate an inclusive workplace where all employees can thrive. In addition to providing professional development opportunities and unconscious bias training, Labcorp saw significant growth in our employee resource groups (ERGs) in 2022. Our eight ERGs—VERG for veterans, PRIDE for LGBTQ+ employees, ASCEND for young professionals, WEN for women, PULSE for Black employees, EnABLE for employees with disabilities, HUMANOS for Hispanic and Latino employees and ASPIRE for Asian and Pacific Islander employees—are now represented across 15 countries

  • Our Operations: As we commit to improving health and lives across our global communities, we also seek to evolve in sustainable ways—to reduce our impact while supporting client goals. Since 2020, we have taken steps to reduce our carbon footprint through strategic global expansions of our clinical trial kit production line and increased our investments in renewable electricity, and in 2022 we submitted science-based targets for greenhouse gas emission reductions to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for validation

  • Our Community: Labcorp is proud to serve individuals beyond the scope of a healthcare setting. In 2022, The Labcorp Charitable Foundation contributed $750,000 to the American Red Cross in support of humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine. Through philanthropy and volunteer efforts, Labcorp employees also helped support food pantries and summer meal programs for children, provided access to healthcare and patient support services for the underserved, broadened access to STEM education programming and provided ongoing support for medical research, screenings and programs to promote a healthy lifestyle
