Genetic testing: How iGeniE streamlines result delivery for providers and patients
The landscape of prenatal genetic screening is rapidly evolving, with more conditions, complexity and positive results than ever before. While this information empowers patients, it also creates new challenges for providers. Explaining nuanced genetic concepts is time-consuming, and the concepts can be difficult for patients to grasp in a single appointment. According to a recent scientific study, 88% of patients agree that video explanations make results easier to understand.1
Labcorp's innovative and education-driven digital genetic assistant, iGeniE, helps streamline cfDNA and carrier screening results delivery through personalized videos and result summaries. The tool works hand-in-hand with providers, supporting them in delivering patient care.
Here’s how iGeniE can fit into your existing patient workflow
First, providers enroll with iGeniE through Labcorp and receive registration materials to share with patients (this may be a QR code given during or after an appointment). Then patients can self-register in 10 minutes or less.
When results become available, the patient receives a link to view a personalized video explanation, along with a genetic results summary. For patients with the highest-risk results, a genetic counselor will call them directly. All videos are carefully reviewed and curated by genetic counselors to maintain the quality and consistency of the information they contain.
iGeniE: Supporting you and your patients
iGeniE allows patients to receive consistent, engaging explanations that they can rewatch anytime, anywhere on their devices and share with their partners and family. They can also connect with Labcorp's nationwide team of credentialed genetic counselors and medical geneticists who answer questions and provide further education, supporting patients in making informed decisions.
With iGeniE, providers can efficiently deliver genetic results, devote more time to patients who need additional support and engage with patients on their own terms.
