Managing New Requirements for Bumblebee Acute Contact and Oral Toxicity Studies

We were was approached by a client to carry out bumblebee acute contact and oral toxicity studies (OECD 246 and 247) for a plant protection product. As the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) test guidelines for bumblebees were relatively new, being adopted in autumn 2017, the client was unsure of the requirements and how best to approach them. They asked us to apply our years of expertise in honey bee toxicity studies to these new test requirements in bumblebees.
